The inaugural Waddies Classic tournament, held in May of 2022, marked the realization of a dream—a vision of creating a large, spirited, and competitive Waddies event that brought players together and set the stage for something truly special. What began as an ambitious idea quickly became a reality, and the tournament has only grown in size, excitement, and prestige ever since. Fittingly, it was local Centre Wellington standouts Jeremy Machin and Tyler Johnston who claimed victory in that first historic Classic, showcasing their skill and passion for the game. Their win not only energized the community but also cemented their names in Waddies history as the very first champions of a tradition that continues to thrive.
