Our Story
Waddies is more than just a game. It's a tradition that has been passed down through generations and built on friendships that span a lifetime.
The story begins with Andy, whose grandfather introduced him to a homemade tossing game called Waddies at an early age. What started as a simple family game quickly became a favorite pastime, and Andy soon began sharing it with his childhood friends. From that moment on, we were hooked.
As teenagers and young adults, Waddies became a part of almost every gathering. Every weekend, every hockey tournament, every cottage trip, and every excuse to get together seemed to end with a Waddies tournament. Countless hours were spent competing, laughing, and creating memories around a game we all loved.
Over the years, our group of friends followed different career paths and built experience across a wide range of industries, including business, sales, marketing, operations, manufacturing, finance, technology, and entrepreneurship. Yet despite busy careers and growing families, Waddies remained a constant. Wherever we gathered, the boards came out and the competition began.
In 2020, a group of 11 lifelong friends came together with a shared vision. We decided to combine the knowledge, skills, and experience we had gained throughout our careers to bring Waddies to a much larger audience. We believed that if this game had created so many unforgettable moments for us, it could do the same for families and friends across Canada and beyond.
What began as a game handcrafted by a grandfather has grown into a business built on friendship, passion, and a genuine love for competition and connection. Today, our mission is simple: to share Waddies with the world and help create the same memories that we have been making for decades.
